The Grammy-Winning Phoenix Chorale Presents "ECLIPSE" - Downtown Phoenix

"Eclipse" is a meditative concert on the transformative power of light, to banish darkness and create warmth and sustenance. In a play on semantics, the program also looks at composers and music that have surmounted, or eclipsed, all that have gone before them – truly game-changing compositions that invite the audience to enter into a sound-world that presents a new voice, epitomizing the space and time in which that music was created. Beginning in ancient origins and considering darkness as a metaphor for worldly despair, themes of hope and renewal are introduced that precipitate seismic changes in landscape, emotion and attitude. As we reach a state of light and comfort, we praise the elements responsible for this change, and bask in the glory of redemption and renewal.
